Assessment of the influence of agricultural practices on deforestation in the Misahualli Parish, Tena Canton, Napo Province

In the community of Monte Alegre de Apayacu of the Misahuallí Parish, Canton Tena, Province of Napo, the problema was evaluated, where it is based on deforestation for the activity, determining the existence of the advance of the agricultural frontier in an approximate percentage of the 20 % from baseline. For the analysis of agricultural practices, quantitative techniques were applied where the fundamental support is statistical such as surveys, interviews, observations, and qualitative, deepening the understanding and interpretation of the data, it was asked to a total of 12 people who owned the farms, 18 questions were applied, including 14 open and 4 closed in relation to the agricultural, economic, and social sphere. The results indicate that agriculture is a determining factor in the advancement of deforestation that affects biodiversity. The vast majority of land ownership is their own, carrying out agricultural and livestock activities, cultivating products in a combined and traditional way, where it has been determined that chemical fertilizers are applied to maintain the soil. Most families are dedicated to cultivating the land, using the machete for soil preparation. Where, according to their criteria, the main cause for deforestation to continue advancing each year is the growing demand for food and raw materials. In addition, it was proven that the educational level of the majority of the people in the community is up to 7 years of basic education.
