Abstract

The research addressed how the digital media Portada TV influences the construction of public opinion among young people aged 18 to 25 years in Puyo. This issue becomes important in a context where young people are active users of digital information, which impacts their perceptions on social issues. The main objective of the study was to analyze the impact of Portada TV in shaping the public opinion of this demographic group. To this end, specific objectives were defined that included the evaluation of the informative content of the digital media in relation to relevant topics, the identification of how the agenda-setting theory is applied in the media and the investigation of how the immediacy of digital content affects the way in which young people process information. The methodology consisted of the qualitative method through exploration to determine the media as an object of study and quantitative, through surveys to young people in Puyo to capture their perceptions and information habits. The results showed that Portada TV established itself as a main source of information for this group, influencing their way of approaching issues of public interest. The research concluded that its presence in the digital sphere contributed significantly to the construction of public opinion among young people, by facilitating a space for debate on issues that affect them.
